Spoiler-light guide
Queensbury Crypt is the first major dungeon most players should clear after stabilizing in Ossex. Use this page when you want a direct first-dungeon route without reading a full-game walkthrough.
Quick Answer: Head from Ossex toward Eastern Heath and Queensbury Crypt, slow down in the Old Graveyard, check suspicious walls near the entrance, prepare for Duchess with a survival loadout, then follow the Duke/Proto Spark and Maxi routes after the boss.
Spoiler-Light Hint: This page has medium spoilers for Queensbury Crypt. It names the dungeon boss, secret follow-ups, and reward routes, but avoids a room-by-room copied walkthrough.
| Stage | What to do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Leave Ossex prepared | Bring healing, spend spare Bones, and use Nightstar or your safest weapon | Queensbury punishes panic more than low damage. |
| 2. Cross Eastern Heath / Old Graveyard | Treat cracked floors, graves, and button gates as route lessons | These rooms teach the trap timing used inside the crypt. |
| 3. Check the crypt entrance | Look left and right before pushing forward; public routes report breakable walls and early hidden rewards | This is a common first-dungeon missed-item search. |
| 4. Respect arrow and block rooms | Use burrow timing, room edges, and movable objects deliberately | Rushing traps costs more healing than it saves. |
| 5. Track statue-head rooms | If a statue head or carried object seems important, note the room before moving on | Players often lose track of where the object belongs after boss attempts. |
| 6. Prepare for Duchess | Switch out farming/exploration trinkets for survival, healing, or boss-safe roles | Duchess is the first major route check for many players. |
| 7. Follow the reward chain | After Duchess, complete the Duke/Proto Spark route and watch the return path toward Ossex | This converts the dungeon clear into lasting safety upgrades. |
| Prep item | Recommendation | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon | Nightstar or the weapon you miss least with | Recovery matters more than theoretical DPS. |
| Trinkets | Survival, vial support, or damage margin | You want more attempts that reach later phases. |
| Bones | Spend before repeated attempts | Do not donate a large Bone pile to a boss you are still learning. |
| Healing | Heal after a clear Duchess action, not during panic movement | Unsafe healing often turns one hit into two. |
| Mindset | Do one observation attempt | Learning movement tells you more than forcing damage immediately. |
| Reward / follow-up | How it connects | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Proto Spark | Follow the Duke/Duchess aftermath after clearing Queensbury | Trinket locations |
| Midden / Fly Bait | Explore the Ancestral Chamber secret boss route when ready for optional spoilers | Secret bosses |
| Maxi / Trinket Bag | Return toward Ossex from the right after Queensbury to trigger the follow-up | Boss rewards |
| Hidden entrance rewards | Check suspicious walls near early crypt rooms | Walkthrough hub |
| Upgrade planning | Spend the dungeon rewards on slots, Sparks, health, or weapon comfort | Best upgrades |
For most first runs, yes. The game allows wandering, but Queensbury Crypt is the cleanest first major dungeon route after Ossex.
Follow the Duke/Proto Spark route, then watch for optional Midden and Maxi follow-ups before pushing much deeper.
Use your safest weapon plus survival, healing, or movement comfort trinkets. Avoid farming loadouts before Duchess.
